Nokia is the leading mobile manufacturer in the world and almost 80 percent of mobile phone users in India use a Nokia. But how do you know if your Nokia mobile phone is original or not? The answer is in the IMEI number of our mobile phone. IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity. No two mobile phones have the same IMEI number.
So, if you want to check if your Nokia handset is original, take a good look at the IMEI number, which is in the form of 15 digits. You can check your handset’s IMEI number by pressing *#06# on your handset. Now make a careful note of the following:

• If the 7th & 8th digits are 02 or 20, this shows that the phone was assembled in UAE meaning inferior quality.
• If the 7th & 8th digits are 08 or 80, this means that the phone was assembled in Germany which is good enough
• If the 7th & 8th digits are 01 or 10, this indicates that the phone was assembled in Finland which is quality wise very good.
• If the 7th & 8th digits are 00, this means the phone was assembled in the original Nokia manufacturing factory and it is having exceptional quality
• If your seventh and eighth digit are 13, then it shows that the phone was made in Azerbaijan, and the phone won’t probably last long.
• If the 7th & 8th digits are 08 or 80, this means that the phone was assembled in Germany which is good enough
• If the 7th & 8th digits are 01 or 10, this indicates that the phone was assembled in Finland which is quality wise very good.
• If the 7th & 8th digits are 00, this means the phone was assembled in the original Nokia manufacturing factory and it is having exceptional quality
• If your seventh and eighth digit are 13, then it shows that the phone was made in Azerbaijan, and the phone won’t probably last long.
So the next time, while buying a Nokia handset, do not forget to check the IMEI number.
